PRESENTATION OF THE VECTORISATION AUTOMATICAL SYSTEM

AND COMMERCIAL
NOTES
Purpose
- The system is dedicated to the production, it can be defined as a production line. It is
used principally for the automatical vectorisation of geographic maps, scanned in A0 format,
and the elevation line vectorisation from digital terrain model.
Technology
- The using process allows to ignore problems of file size, in memory capacity as well as
processing time, this last remaining purely proportinal (not exponential) to the file size to
treat.
- Due to the fact that generated files contain a high number of informations, most of vector
processing software take a prohibitive time for the download of these files, this involves
that the handling and edition of these vectors are impracticable.
- So the system includes an optionnal device of automatical breakdown into individual
operations, an automatical generation and ruling of the file names.
- The operator monitors on a part of the image, in interactif mode, the totality of the
vectorisation parameters until having satisfaction. In this interactif mode, the operator
sees processing the vectorisation in step by step mode, with visualisation, per colors, of
the software decisions.
- This methodology allows to rule with a high precision the vectorisation parameters, avoiding
a lot of connexion failures or of no connexions.
- Soon the parameters defined, the automatical processing can be set up. This processing is
interruptable and can be relaunch to the interrupted place. This device allows to process
outside business hours without useless immobilization of the machine.
- This sofware foresees the vector georeferencing in an optionnal manner.
- For an identical vector file in output, the software realizes, if necessary, the
assembling of some image files in input. This option is preceeding by a convivial stage of
georeferencing of the images in input (4 points per image minimum).
- The system includes geometrical corrections which can be applied to the images. This device
allows to correctly join different scanned images.
- All the existing modules are usable in batch : those which imply an interaction of the user
are used previously; due to the association of the rulings with the document to treat, these
ones will be automatically restored during the processing per set.
- Different layer types can be treated, generally per colors or per elevations.
- From one or some images in input, it is possible to create, per layer, different vector files
or to gather these layers in a identical file.
- The vector format in output is the DXF.
